Unique Fine Art Photography by F.M. Kearney
Empire State Building and fiery sunset
New York, NY
The HDR (high-dynamic range) technique was used to capture the vivid colors and tones of this image. Normally, HDR photos are the compilations of 4 or 5 images of varying exposures. Due to the chaotic nature of this scene, chances of one of the images being marred by an unexpected intrusion (someone walking in front of the camera, a large truck or bus blocking the front of the building, etc.) were very high. Therefore, 4 sets of 5 images were shot and the best 5 of the 20 were selected to create this image. Also, a fisheye lens was used to take in this entire scene.
